      Pensacola Chapter Holds Annual Fund Raiser Golf Tournament for Scholarships

      PENSACOLA, FLORIDA Blue Angels Pensacola Chapter of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) hosted its ninth annual scholarship golf tournament where twenty-six teams teed off Saturday, October 18, 2008, at the Solutia Golf Club, Cantonment, Florida.

      "Thanks to John H. Childs, Jr. Director of Golf & Operations and PGA Instructor, plus other Solutia staff, our valued sponsors and volunteers for assisting to organize a much enjoyed day of golf and business relations,” stated Chuck Staton, Golf Tournament Director, Blue Angels Pensacola Chapter. 
       
      This year’s event netted over $3700.00 and proceeds from this event, as in the past, will be used to provide scholarships to local students from area colleges that are furthering their education in technology, engineering and the sciences. “These funds are committed as part of our ongoing effort to assist students striving for technical degrees,” stated Robyn Philips, Vice President Awards and Education, Blue Angels Pensacola Chapter.
       
      “On behalf of the scholarship recipients and all our Chapter members, please accept a grateful and hearty thank you and well done!” commented Patrick Rooney, President, Blue Angels Pensacola Chapter.
